On Sunday 29th July 2019 a women was reported missing at approximately 17:00 in the evening. Various S&R organisations were called to assist including K9SARA, Metro and WASAR and a hasty search was carried out until around midnight to no avail. Initially it was thought the missing person had headed up the mountainside but when our K9 was trailed he gave a different picture. The next morning scent was lifted from the seat of the car and used to start the dog who immediately gave a positive direction along the road. This information was used by a dedicated TMNP ranger who re-coordinated the search and subsequently with the help of various other entities was able to locate the missing person. Sadly the person was deceased but we hope the dedication by various entities provided comfort to the family and friends. We would like to thank TMNP, WSAR, K9SARA and Metro for their dedication during the course of the search.
